We
are very pleased to announce that Dr. Sara J. Aton,
a recent graduate of the Washington University Neuroscience
Program (Ph.D. 2006), was awarded the
2007 Donald B. Lindsley Prize in Behavioral Neuroscience.
Sara
conducted her thesis work in Erik Herzog's laboratory
in the Department of Biology, and studied the synchronization
and maintenance of circadian rhythms in the suprachiasmatic
nucleus. Sara is now a postdoctoral associate in Marcos
Frank's laboratory at the University of Pennsylvania.
The
Grass Foundation established the Lindsley
Prize in 1979 to recognize meritorious research
in behavioral neuroscience. The annual prize recognizes
outstanding doctoral studies in the general area of
behavioral neuroscience and is awarded at the Annual
Meeting of the Society for Neuroscience, this year taking
place in San Diego.
Congratulations
to Sara! and to Erik, and to our Program!
